My lunch time saddness

It is with a heavy heart and true saddness that I received the phone call at work, from my newest friends partner, to inform me and my coworkers that Jason had passed away this morning. This came following a week long worry about health issues he endured over the Christmas holiday. What Jason thought was merely a severe cold turned into a hospital stay, where the stupid doctors thought he had meningitis. They gave him antibiotics and he suffered a seizure.
I'm deeply sad to lose such a dear and wonderful new friend (so quickly) but am truly thankful that I was allowed the time to have him in my life. And when Bill shared with me that Jason showed him our text messages and the stories of our shopping adventures, he said Jason had referred to me as "the spunky little Spanish hottie"...
So knowing that someone has a purpose in your life, I know that Jason's was to bring me joy at work.  I'm proudly keeping his office ID badge as my only photo reminder of this sweet, loving, dear man that I shared with the world.
Jason H. you will be missed but never forgotten. Thank you for being a short part of my life and for listening and being an immediate friend.
